The Landfill Advisory Committee chair reported increased enforcement and use of security personnel at county convenience centers and said residents who work outside typical hours have trouble depositing large bulk items. "We're trying to make it more convenient for the residents to be able to deposit these items," the LAC chair said.
Board members discussed options including ordinance adjustments and recommended the LAC produce a formal recommendation. The motion to direct the LAC to review the convenience‑center ordinance and offer recommendations passed by voice vote.
The board also asked staff to track odor complaints with a weather station at the landfill and to collate dates/times when residents report problems so the county can provide documented evidence to the contractor and pursue corrective actions.
