City Clerk Cassandra Redd presented an annual overview of the clerk's office and said the department is "on target to stay within the projected number of 272,500." She told the council the office is responsible for maintaining official records, council meeting minutes and the municipal code, and that demand has grown for marriage licenses, vital records and genealogy research as more residents seek dual-citizenship documentation.
Redd described several operational priorities for 2024 and plans for 2025, including improved FOIL processing, digitization of records and expanded online forms. She said commuter parking permit demand has risen as more people return to in-person work and noted staff are working with Passport Incorporated to improve the parking system and reporting. Redd invited council questions and offered to follow up with additional detail on specific budget lines.
