Resident says commercial lighting and repeated alarms at Beacon Harbor disrupt sleep and safety

Dan (Danny) Haney, who gave his address as 9717 Rochedale Drive, told the council two complaints that he said have affected his family: bright commercial lighting from a nearby property and a repeatedly sounding back-door alarm he says has prompted frequent police and fire responses.
Haney said the lighting began in January and that he provided photos on a jump drive for staff review. He described the lighting as intruding into bedrooms at night and said the sound of the alarm is “a constant piercing noise for hours,” sometimes at 5 a.m. He said the Raleigh Police Department had been dispatched “over a 100 times in the last 9 years” about the back door and that the fire department described the situation as a life-safety concern for elderly residents at the site.
Council members thanked Haney for bringing the materials and staff said they would review the jump drive and follow up; no formal action was taken during citizen input.
