Charlie McGovern, Flatiron’s director of development, described a project capacity figure of 670.2 MW and said the firm submitted smaller development tranches (225 MW, 335 MW and 400 MW) to align with the PSC solicitation. McGovern emphasized the safety approach—product design and vendor selection, project development standards, and training and operations and maintenance regimes tied to first‑responder coordination. He estimated the construction phase would create more than 100 local jobs and about $15,000,000 in local wages.
Flatiron noted the site’s industrial heavy zoning, PJM transition study status, and opportunities to interconnect into existing Pepco substation infrastructure. The company said it will continue early engagement with authorities having jurisdiction to address permitting and safety requirements.
