The Ford County Finance Committee met on Friday, May 8, 2026, in the sheriff’s board room at the jail. Finance Chair Sarah Mussman called the meeting to order at 10:07 a.m.; committee members Randy Ferguson, Garett Kerber, Sarah Mussman and Greg Niewold were present, establishing a quorum. Finance Committee member Carson Vaughn was absent. Department heads present included Sheriff Chad Johnson, Deputy Dave Kaeding, CMO Director Jennifer Harrison, Treasurer Taylor Burnett, EMA Terry Whitebird, Circuit Clerk Kasi Schwarz, and Assessment Supervisor Pam Bruens.
The committee approved the agenda, reviewed and voted to forward submitted claims to the County Board (roll call unanimous), carried resolutions establishing compensation for the Ford County Sheriff and for the Circuit Clerk, and tabled a Public Building Commission budgeting item until the PBC meeting on May 29. Assessment Supervisor Pam Bruens voiced concerns about the budget process for the Circuit Clerk salary increase during the meeting. Chair Mussman adjourned the meeting at 11:25 a.m.
