Harvey County officials opened four sealed bids May 20 for thirty-six Disc Golf Pro Tour championship baskets and poles to be permanently installed at Camp Hawk. Parks Director Kass Miller read bid totals; net bids ranged roughly from $12,526.34 to $21,610.00 depending on delivery and included optional accessories and shipping.
Local disc golfer Brandon Nelson told commissioners he preferred Innova baskets on the market and said not having basket numbers supplied by a vendor “is not a big issue.” Commissioner Becky Reimer moved to accept the bids and asked staff to review specifications, warranties and delivery timelines and return a recommendation at the next meeting. Commissioner Terry Scott seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The request for bids required ground sleeves and three sets of basket numbers; the procurement will be executed within the existing CIP budget for the Camp Hawk refurbishment, and staff said delaying the purchase risks higher future costs.
