Harvey County commissioners on April 29 approved a design proposal from Schaefer Architecture for a courthouse remodel and authorized staff to finalize an AIA contract reflecting the proposal terms.
Gary Holler, representing Schaefer Architecture, presented scope and services that include schematic design through construction administration, with a proposed design fee of approximately $525,700, calculated as roughly 7% of an estimated $7.51 million final construction cost. Commissioner Terry Scott moved to approve the proposal and authorize staff to sign and finalize the formal AIA contract; Commissioner Becky Reimer seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The county packet includes a program survey and cost estimate supporting the fee calculation. Staff and the architect will next proceed to contract execution and project initiation if the formal contract terms align with the approved proposal.
