Athletic director Sean Jimenez told the Pojoaque Valley board on Aug. 27 that the district plans to move its athletics ticketing and concessions to the Hometown app, which offers presales, analytics, season passes and an integrated fundraising platform called SchoolFunder. Jimenez said Hometown charges a flat $1 per ticket plus 2.9% and $0.30 per transaction; he estimated that on an $8 ticket the district would net roughly $6.42 after fees and that the customer would continue to pay $8 at checkout.
Board members welcomed the presale and gate‑efficiency features but several raised concerns about equity and access. One board member said the district serves "many poor people" who lack bank or ATM cards and worried that a fully cashless system could exclude grandparents or community members without cards. Jimenez said staff intend to accommodate individuals who cannot pay electronically and that concessions pricing would not be raised to airport levels. The board asked administration to develop transition rules — for example, how an unused presale ticket might be honored at a later game — and to explore ways to allow cash‑based fundraisers (such as calendars) to continue during an initial transition period.
