Board proposes subcommittee to clarify book-reconsideration process

Library Director Suzanne explained the practical steps the library now follows and said the missing piece is an explicit board-level process when a requester appeals a staff decision. "When it gets to the board...you guys make the ultimate decision," Suzanne said, outlining questions about who may speak during a board review and whether the board should set parameters on public comment during deliberations.
Several board members expressed interest in joining the subcommittee; Suzanne, Lynn and Jana (as named in discussion) were put forward, and other volunteers were invited to sign up by email. Suzanne agreed to start an email thread so volunteers can coordinate meeting times and next steps.
