"We are expecting the public survey in August," he said; consultants plan community engagement (survey plus open houses) and a draft plan by fall or winter. Council members stressed asking residents about willingness to pay for new amenities, the role of short‑term rentals and the need for better accommodations (hotels or STRs) to capture visitor spending. Staff said the plan aims to be a public document helpful to potential businesses and event organizers.
