Commission approves up to $12,500 for Leadsville PSD to locate leaks in 42-mile water system

Channell said the district wanted to hire a contractor to perform acoustic leak detection at an estimated cost of $25,000 and that Leadsville already had $12,500 secured.
The commission approved up to $12,500 to be drawn from Fund 208 to cover the remaining cost, with the understanding that if the contractor locates leaks faster than anticipated the full $25,000 may not be charged. The motion passed unanimously.
Commissioners noted that the district is also pursuing a larger water project that could include a new booster station and potential extensions to unserved areas; funding and project sequencing will continue to be discussed as those plans progress.
