Long Prairie Police report 201 calls in two weeks; officers completed wellness and crisis training

Mayor Jim Kreemer summarized police activity for the prior two weeks, stating LPPD had 201 calls in the period — an average of 14.36 calls per day — and highlighted recent training attended by officers. He noted Officer Cody Vail attended Officer Wellness training and, with Chief Ryan Hanson, attended Mental Illness and Crisis Intervention sessions at Sourcewell in Staples.
The mayor also said Officers Morazan and Harden attended interview-and-interrogation training, and the department will hold a March 17 meeting featuring Todd County Integrated Diversion Agents (TIDA) to discuss diversion counseling and embedded counselors. “it was noted LPPD will be having a department meeting on 3-17-25, with training information session from TIDA (Todd County Integrated Diversion Agents) about their jobs of crime diversion counseling and imbedded counselors.”
