Luan Thomas-Brunkhorst and Chris Amundson told the council the Tourism Committee will assume responsibility for the Welcome Guide and take over Concerts in the Park, moving events to Saturdays starting Memorial Day weekend. Committee members said they plan food trucks, softball tournaments and a fireworks show intended to draw visitors to Lake Charolette and the community.
Council member JoAnn Schroeder moved to approve the Tourism Commission’s request to use Rosen Fields Ballpark to launch fireworks on July 5, 2025; Council member Gabrier Perez seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Thomas-Brunkhorst noted insurance will need to be updated and those costs will be charged to the tourism fund. “their biggest plan is to have a fireworks display on July 5th over Lake Charolette to bring tourist to town.”
Provenance: Tourism discussion appears in SEG 026 and the fireworks motion is recorded in SEG 027.
