Ameren Hawkins explained the foundation’s plan to hold a corn tournament in the Colorado Room at CNCC on March 8, 2025, from 6 to 11 p.m., and said proceeds will be dedicated to Tristan Scott, a local senior recovering from a serious accident. "We're wanting to try to help him get a prosthetic," Hawkins told the council, and the permit application was approved on a voice vote.
Hawkins outlined how funds raised at the event and other foundation donations would be allocated to assist local youth sports and the Scott family. Councilmembers thanked the organizer and approved the permit with no opposition recorded on the voice vote.
