Anne Skelton, a member of the Pacific County Marine Resources Committee, told the South Bend City Council that the committee is hosting a science conference Saturday, May 17 at the Cranberry Museum in Long Beach and invited council members and residents to attend. "Our science conference is this Saturday, May 17 at the, Cranberry Museum in Long Beach," Skelton said, adding that the event is free and open to all.
Skelton outlined the program and logistics: speakers from hatcheries, ports, the MRC and the conservation district will present updates on local marine issues, and topics will include conditions in Willapa Bay and shorebird and burrowing-shrimp ecology. She said organizers will provide a continental breakfast, lunch and an evening seafood dinner and asked that attendees RSVP so staff can plan food quantities, with RSVPs taken at mrc.pacificcd.org or by calling the conservation district.
