Rangely FFA students present creed, head to district contest

Bridal Mergelman, the high school FFA adviser and agriculture teacher, introduced chapter winner Addie Thane and runner-up Hayden Garcia and said the pair will represent the Rangely chapter at the district contest next Monday. "All of the kids this year presented the creed in class," Mergelman told the council before turning the floor over to the students.
Addie Thane and Hayden Garcia recited the FFA creed and answered two practice questions apiece from council members. When asked what is meant by the line "with a faith born not of words but of deeds," Thane said, "it's like showing that you have to back your words up with actions and you can't just say stuff and you have to hold true to that." The council thanked the students and wished them luck at districts.
