Lycoming County approves five-year MOU with River Valley Transit Authority for emergency transportation

Commissioners approved an MOU to formalize coordination between the county Department of Public Safety and the River Valley Transit Authority for emergency transportation and resource support.
"So this is gonna be a formal standardized framework with RBT to provide public transit resources and transportation during disasters, severe weather events, evacuations, and just general public safety incidents within the county," Kelsey (a public safety official) said when explaining the agreement. The MOU is written to allow mutual aid and to permit reimbursement if a federal disaster declaration applies; commissioners voted to approve the five-year agreement.
