Onslow County Public Library wraps a busy summer with back-to-school bashes Aug. 8 and Aug. 22

Tori Parks said the library’s summer-reading season drew readers of all ages; the library will help run back-to-school events Aug. 8 (Catalyst Church partnership) and Aug. 22 (county park with Parks & Rec and museum) and will pause recurring children’s programs Aug. 29–Sept. 12.
Tori Parks of the Onslow County Public Library said summer reading drew participation from preschoolers through adults and that branches have been busy with activities and prize pick-ups. "One of the highlights has been receiving all of the pictures in my email from the branches of all of the winners," she said.
Parks outlined two back-to-school events: August 8, in partnership with Catalyst Church, the YMCA and JPD near Gum Branch, and August 22 at a county park with Parks & Rec, the museum, a BMX show and other family activities. She also announced a pause of recurring children’s programs from August 29 until September 12 so staff can prepare for fall programming; adult programs will continue during the pause. The library posts calendars and newsletters online and maintains active social channels for updates.
