The Randolph County Commission approved the third contractor payment of $22,574.85 to Veritas Contracting LLC for renovations to a judge’s courtroom in the Cain Annex.
President David Kesling said the original Veritas contract totaled $218,785 and that the approved payment leaves $151,064.25 remaining. Kesling reported on construction issues, saying the height of installed walls measured 41.5 inches but the specification called for 36 inches; he said additional change orders and furniture purchases remain and that Supreme Court IT must run bench data lines. Kesling estimated the overall project cost will be in the vicinity of $300,000.
