Peggy Ross reported to the Commission that she applied for nine grants in 2024. Of those, five were awarded, one was denied and three remain pending, she said. Ross told the board the county received an award for the design of the front steps and that she intends to apply for construction funding in 2025.
Ross said she is working on grant applications for Camp Pioneer to fund a walking trail and a restroom along the trail. She also indicated she will pursue additional grant money to address dilapidated buildings because "there is no money left as of now," according to the minutes. The minutes do not list specific grant program names or award amounts for the items discussed.
Her report was recorded as a staff update; no Commission action was taken on the grants report during the meeting.
