Mayor proposes faith and entrepreneurship advisory commissions, calls for volunteers for National Day of Service

Mayor Finkham said the City will replace a previously convened nonprofit with a formal Faith and Service advisory commission made up of faith leaders, chaplains from police and fire and community members. "We're gonna make 9 on this," she said, describing the commission as an advisory body with more structure than the nonprofit it replaces.
Finkham also introduced plans for an Entrepreneurship advisory commission to help identify resources for one-person startups through larger employers, and discussed possible subcommittees on tech and startups. Separately, she called for volunteers to staff National Day of Service events (MLK Day and Sept. 11 dates highlighted), describing sign-up windows and routes and crediting Dr. Scott Savater's cleanup program as a growing city effort.
