Carmel to publish department budgets and videos ahead of council review, mayor says

Mayor Finkham told the Small Business Network that after a difficult prior year for revenue, the city is taking steps to increase budget transparency. "September 8, we delivered to city council," she said, and added that this year those materials — PowerPoint presentations, a detailed Excel workbook and recorded director commentary — will be posted publicly so residents see what the council receives.
Finkham said the city expects to move through its review process and submit the approved budget to the State, with final state approval likely by February; she described the timeline and encouraged residents to review materials and submit questions via an online budget page on carmel.in.gov.
