Piedmont plans Nov. 17 Adult Recreation Expo with about 25 groups tabling

Commissioners leading the Adult Recreation Expo previewed plans for the free event on Nov. 17 at the Veterans Building and said about 25 groups will table to promote adult programs. “It will be on Sunday, November 17 from 2 to 04:30 at the Veterans Building,” one organizer said during the commission meeting.
The recreation department is underwriting venue costs and working with community partners—Piedmont adult school instructors, Piedmont Center for the Arts, League of Women Voters, Piedmont Beautification Foundation, Jazzercise and others—to encourage cross‑pollination of members. Organizers discussed outreach tactics (press release, listservs, social media), attendance tracking (door clicker) and minor incentives like raffles to collect contact information and to judge whether the expo should become an annual event.
