Facilities rentals heavy in 2024; calendar for 2026 to open Jan. 8, 2025, rec staff says

Evie Sandoval, the recreation coordinator responsible for facilities, reported heavy use of City facilities during 2024 and outlined staffing plans and reservation timing. “We have utilized about a 100 weekend dates, Friday through Sunday, out of a 156 dates that we have throughout 2024,” Evie said, and added that, as of the report, 94 of 156 weekend dates were already booked for 2025.
Evie said the department currently employs eight part‑time facility attendants and hopes to add two more to ensure multiple facilities can be staffed when bookings overlap. She also said the city will open reservations for 2026 on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, and that last‑minute bookings can sometimes be accommodated depending on staffing availability.
