Council advanced an ordinance authorizing a supplemental appropriation to pay a consultant inspector assigned to the Frontier excavation project; City Engineer Glenn Davis said Frontier deposited funds cover the full-time inspector costs and related administrative fees.
Assistant Service Director Mike Testa also briefed the Committee on a revamped utility collections process: active accounts more than 60 days delinquent will receive a disconnection notice and could be tagged and disconnected if not cured; staff reported roughly $600,000 of inactive accounts fall within the 6.5-year legal collection window and will be referred to a collection law firm, while about $1.5 million in legacy inactive balances largely exceed the statutory window for suit.
