Stormwater commission readies five-year capital view; rate study to follow

The Stormwater Commission reviewed a second-quarter summary and directed staff to build a five-year capital view for the 2027 budget cycle. Assistant Service Director Mike Testa said that work will provide the data needed to assess the sufficiency of the residential stormwater assessment (currently $4.50), and the Commission expected to revisit rates after the October budget updates.
Testa said the rate calculation for nonresidential customers remains based on building square footage and that an updated cost-of-service approach may eliminate the need for an outside consultant used by other utility rate studies. The Commission scheduled its next meeting for July 14, 2026.
