Committee advances water-looping work and design for new Brickyard-area tower

The Committee moved legislation to Council advancing Water Looping Phase II, a project that will bore under SR 57 and the runway to connect a dead-end feed serving Airport Road into the broader system, improving flow and water quality. City Engineer Glenn Davis said the work was identified in the Master Plan and coordination with Water Treatment Plant upgrades and the new Bulk Fill Water Station will reduce rework.
Davis also described design work for a new Low Side water tower near the Brickyard (adjacent to St. Edwards’ complex). He said the site study, distribution connections (including a 16-inch main down SR 94), and EPA sizing guidance were completed and construction could extend into summer 2027. Council voted to advance the looping legislation for two readings.
