Council committee moves Dawna Drive emergency water-line replacement to full Council

The Public Service Committee voted unanimously April 14 to send an ordinance to full Council authorizing bids and a construction contract for the Dawna Drive Water Line Replacement. City Engineer Glenn Davis told the Committee the existing main in the Dawna Drive area has failed repeatedly and is "too far gone to be repaired," making replacement necessary as essentially an emergency project.
Davis said the project is intended to mitigate frequent water-main breaks residents reported at recent Council meetings. Council Member Chris Maxwell moved to place the legislation on the Council agenda for two readings; Council Member Zach Berger seconded and the motion carried. The Committee recommended the item proceed to Council with the standard emergency declaration request.
