Floresville ISD to provide K9 narcotics detection service to four neighboring districts under interlocal agreement

Administration described an interlocal agreement that would allow Floresville ISD to provide a trained canine (Tina) and handler to four partner districts—LaVern, Stockdale, Post and Falls City—for scheduled inspections at participating middle and high school campuses. The host district will pay $300 per inspection; the agreement covers a minimum of six and a maximum of 10 inspections per term year and runs from Aug. 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026. "The cost per inspection at the host district campus is $300," the presenter said.
Administration reported it had spoken with the other superintendents and that the districts had taken the proposal to their boards; trustees asked clarifying questions and voted to approve the interlocal agreement 7–0. Administration noted the revenue offsets some of FISD's costs and that partner districts expressed interest in the arrangement.
