Students, teachers and staff honored at Floresville ISD board meeting

The board opened the meeting with a series of recognitions highlighting classroom and extracurricular achievement. Trustees also honored Mario Garcia as Floresville Middle School's teacher of the month, celebrated a national Chevron Tractor Restoration Contest grand champion presented by students in an agricultural/CTE program, and recognized both boys' and girls' cross-country teams for qualifying for the state meet. A Community of Character award acknowledged security officer Paul Villarreal for using abdominal thrusts to dislodge an airway blockage on a district bus, an action presenters said helped save a student's life.
