Board authorizes submission of 100% grant to upgrade police property and evidence room

Administration asked the board to adopt a resolution authorizing submission of a grant application to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, to upgrade the Floresville ISD Police Department property and evidence room. The presenter said the project would bring the department into compliance with applicable state and federal rules and listed planned purchases including a high-security door and cabinets, evidence management software, an alarmed refrigerator, and an incinerator. "This grant is a 100% funded and does not require any matching funds from the district," the presenter said.
Administration recommended adoption of the resolution authorizing submission; a trustee moved and seconded the motion and the board approved the resolution by show of hands (7–0). Board members asked minor clarifying questions about the physical location and thanked those involved in preparing the application.
