Board canvasses and declares results of recent bond election, approves canvass resolution

Administration explained that the district's bond attorney prepared the legal documents required to canvass the returns and that an unofficial summary from the Wilson County Elections Office was attached for review. The board was asked to adopt a resolution canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the bond election. "The canvass must be conducted in open meeting of the governing body between Tuesday, 05/06/2025 and Wednesday, 05/14/2025," the presenter stated while describing procedures.
A trustee moved to accept administration's recommendation and a second was offered; the board approved the canvass resolution by a vote of 7–0. Board members thanked community members for participation in the election and discussed regrouping to determine next steps for district facility needs.
