Board approves three principals, CTE materials, Greenhouse and AEST agreement

At the July 28 meeting the board approved the consent agenda that included three principal appointments and multiple CTE-related items.
Superintendent Van Ayers introduced Nicole Hildebrand as the new principal of Mulroney Middle School, Dr. Glenn Bramlett as principal of the North Tampa Success Center, and Beth Silva as principal of Dorothy Thomas Exceptional Center; all were recognized and appointments were approved as part of the consent agenda. The board also approved CTE instructional materials vetted by a committee and a professional learning agreement for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Read 180, and authorized purchases and pilot transitions for an Elevation platform migration to the district SIS. The board approved a sole-source agreement with AEST to provide agricultural industry-certification opportunities across 34 schools and authorized purchase and installation of a greenhouse at Tomlin Middle School to support hands-on agricultural education. All consent items were approved unanimously.
Board members asked procurement and data questions about implementation, pilot coverage and funding sources for capital projects; staff responded that many items were funded through industry-certification funds, internal school funding, or existing capital allocations.
