Treasurer Karen told the finance committee that Vernon County's ending bank statement balances at the end of May totaled $25,227,337.22 and daily receipts for May were $4,374,008.00. She reported May sales tax receipts of $268,633.52 and noted delinquent-tax payments of $39,472.89 leaving a delinquent balance of $1,198,008.97; current tax payments totaled $173,054.76, with a current balance of $11,052,001.24.
Committee members asked clarifying questions about apparent small discrepancies on line items and about two larger delinquent accounts that are under review; the treasurer said she would check the specific lines called out and report back. Members also discussed county revenue pacing relative to 2024 and how planned cash-reconciliation work should improve reporting accuracy.
