Reem said the clinic delivered nearly $130,000 in health-care-related services to Amelia residents in the last fiscal year, recently became a Medicaid hybrid provider and is expanding outreach with a new Outreach Coordinator to support cancer-prevention screening in partnership with Massey Cancer Center at VCU.
Reem explained the clinic’s multi-county funding model: Amelia and Cumberland request $10,000 each, Chesterfield is asked for $25,000 and Powhatan provides $10,000 plus an additional $40,000 grant through social services and in-kind support (rent, internet). Supervisors asked about funding methodology and whether Amelia’s contribution yields equitable service levels; no formal vote occurred at the work session.
