Commissioners discussed personnel costs and asked staff to consider a discretionary stipend or bonus for exempt employees (e.g., department heads) who worked substantial overtime during the recent county event; commissioners preferred a one-time bonus line rather than a permanent salary increase. The board agreed to hold a special budget meeting on July 29 at 9 a.m. to finalize preliminary numbers in advance of the August deadline for preliminary budget approval.
Finance staff said the general-fund beginning balance was estimated and outlined major fund totals; commissioners asked for follow-up on weed-board transfers and the road-and-bridge fund before finalizing transfers at the special meeting.
