Staff proposed an operational software package (iWork) to consolidate work orders, assets and GIS mapping and asked the board to approve startup funding. Jack told the board the implementation estimate included a $3,000 software setup fee, about $12,000 in annual software maintenance, roughly $6,000 in hardware, and about $10,000 in staff time — "So the total cost would be about 28,000 with a reoccurring annual cost including waiver of about 22,000," he said.
Board members pressed on data ownership, the need for exportable records, and whether additional part-time staffing would be required; staff said an existing employee would assume the role with reallocated hours. The motion to allocate funds for the platform passed on a roll-call vote.
