AUSD reports net outgoing interdistrict transfers and small overall enrollment dip

Staff cautioned the interdistrict report does not capture charter enrollments, which undercounts students who leave the district for charter schools.
On enrollment, staff reported total district enrollment of 1,381 with site-level differences: Sky Ridge (~459), EB Cain (~410) and Auburn L (~512). Trustees flagged a grade-level "bubble" at Auburn L (3rd and 4th grades) and requested a future 3-year cost analysis to compare one-time startup costs versus ongoing savings tied to recent configuration and boundary changes. Staff said they will compile a multi-year projection and present it to the board.
