Matheson publicly thanked the after‑hours and parks teams, Detective Williams, Chief Lorenz and other staff who provided immediate assistance and said he hoped the council would provide more resources to secure fields, reduce vandalism and protect youth programs. Deputy staff and the city manager said staff would follow up and arrange for a Deputy Chief to coordinate with Matheson.
