The Long Prairie City Council approved a Conditional Use Permit for Todd County to construct a parking lot on a corner parcel at 120 2nd Ave S and 121 2nd St S. The Planning Commission had recommended approval; the council’s conditions include construction of a screening fence on the west side to buffer adjacent residential properties, approval of final drainage and landscaping plans by the City Engineer, completion of a double-ring infiltration test in the basin, and potential widening of the alley entrance to allow two-way traffic at the county’s expense if access proves unsatisfactory.
The motion to approve Resolution 25-02-12-10 passed on a 3–2 vote (Perez-Yes, Kreemer-No, Gripne-Yes, Krueger-No, Schroeder-Yes). Council members discussed parking shortages for county employees and the county’s research into compliance requirements prior to the vote.
