The Long Prairie City Council approved contracting Bolton & Menk to design improvements to the city’s water treatment plant for a not-to-exceed fee of $87,000. Council member Lilah Gripne moved to approve the contract; Mayor James Kreemer seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
During the same discussion the council approved Pay Application No. 2 for the Long Prairie Main Lift Station Improvement Project to C&L Excavating in the amount of $59,280, and approved a donation of $4,000 to the Christie House Historical Society for 2025. Council discussed moving the chemical feed system to a different building and interior painting to mitigate etching and recommended doing the treatment-plant work before the water tower project.
