Maureen said roughly 50% of riders are routine (weekly trips such as dialysis) and noted GCC added subscription-style scheduling for repeat riders to reduce call volume. Staff and commissioners highlighted geographic coverage: 283 trips in the Upper Keys, 112 in the Middle Keys and 485 in the Lower Keys. Funding sources cited included county SSTP funds for Middle Keys service, FDOT innovative service delivery grants (5310) to cover vehicles, client fares with nominal copays (e.g., $2 locally, up to $10 for out-of-county), and donations. The board thanked staff for a smooth transition and asked for continued outreach and coordination with the county on enrollment and vehicle adoption paperwork (FDOT transfers).
