Western Prairie Human Services Director Stacy Hennen asked the Board to adopt a standardized lease so all three counties share the same understanding of property use, responsibilities and rent calculations. Commissioners approved the draft lease unanimously on a motion by Dwight Nelson, seconded by Kayla Schmidt.
Hennen told the Commission the goal of a uniform lease is to "ensure a clear and equitable vision of how the property is used, who is responsible for what tasks and jobs and to ensure that all three counties have the same understanding and are being treated the same," and to equalize the formula by which rent is paid. The approval directed staff to finalize the lease consistent with the terms presented.
