County introduces three new staff: GIS coordinator, grounds superintendent and planning director

County staff introduced three recent hires and described their backgrounds.
Anne Marie introduced Elizabeth Ott as the county’s new GIS coordinator and said Ott “came to us from the College of William…and the College of William and Mary,” where she graduated with a degree in international relations and data science and worked for the Center for Spatial Analysis. Darnell Polk, who started May 18, 2026, was described as the new superintendent of grounds and facilities with prior work at the Virginia Department for the Blind and Visually Impaired and a seven-year stint in the Marine Corps. Joyce Wolfe was introduced as the county’s Planning and Community Development Director, with more than 30 years of planning and zoning experience and certifications including erosion-and-sediment-control administration.
Supervisors welcomed the staff and said they planned to take a group photo with the county administrator. The introductions were presented as informational; no action was required.
