Supervisors voted to create a temporary noise-ordinance committee charged with reviewing the county’s noise rules and returning recommendations to the board.
Board members and staff discussed outreach to stakeholders—including kennel owners, music venue representatives and the sheriff’s office—so the committee would reflect multiple viewpoints. Kevin Gentry and county counsel described the procedure: staff will gather applicant information and return it to the board at the July meeting for appointments.
A motion to establish the committee was made and seconded; the board approved the motion by roll call. Supervisors emphasized the committee should be balanced and that staff should make additional recruitment efforts before final appointments are made.
