We would based on what the state would get back would give us for that, they'd give us back about $57,000, which would leave about $77,000 for the county to pay.” Staff outlined eligibility rules (employees must be employed on June 1 and still employed when paid) and said any bonus requires an ordinance and advertisement prior to payment.
Supervisors debated parity and fairness: some members preferred a flat-dollar amount for non-comp-board employees; others argued the state-calculated 2% tied to comp-board salaries would be simpler. No motion to adopt was made; the board agreed to table the item and bring an ordinance/public hearing forward for the July meeting if the majority wishes to proceed.
