Board reallocates $150,000 of CIP funds to Little Sioux Park Road to avoid election threshold

Ryan Erickson, the county’s budget and finance director, told supervisors a previously approved $150,000 allocation intended for Moville shop real estate could trigger a required public election if the overall project cost exceeded $1,500,000. Erickson recommended moving the $150,000 to the Little Sioux Park Road project, freeing up LOST funds if the real estate purchase proceeds.
The board approved the reallocation on a voice vote (motion passed 4-0). Erickson said the change avoids immediately triggering election requirements while preserving flexibility for the larger project.
