Watershed director touts Creek Week; trustees proclaim Sept. 28–Oct. 6 cleanup

Ali Shook, executive director of the Fountain Creek Watershed District, addressed the board and asked the town to support the district's 11th annual Creek Week. Shook said the program runs nine days from Sept. 28 through Oct. 6 and highlighted earlier results: "In our 10 years of facilitating Creek Week, we've engaged over 25,000 volunteers in removing a 150 tons of trash."
Trustees read a proclamation recognizing Creek Week in Green Mountain Falls and voted unanimously to approve it. Shook thanked trustees for considering the proclamation and noted that the district supplies supplies (bags, gloves, grabbers) and supports member governments organizing local cleanups. Trustees encouraged residents to participate in the local cleanup event in town.
The proclamation as read outlines beneficiaries including businesses, churches, schools, nonprofits and volunteers, and urges residents to join local restoration and cleanup activities during the designated week.
