Ford County Executive Committee approves EMA coordinator job description and authorizes hiring

The Ford County Executive Committee approved a job description for a county Emergency Management Agency (EMA) coordinator and authorized posting the position for hire during its June 2 meeting in the Sheriff’s Boardroom. The motion to approve the job description was made by Randy Ferguson and seconded by Carson Vaughn; the motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
Chairman Chase McCall said the job description was written "according to state statute" and described the hiring plan: "the position will be open until filled, terms will be negotiable, and EMA will have a set budget; applications are to be mailed, and questions can be directed to Chairman McCall via email." Committee members then voted unanimously to post the position. The committee recorded that applications would be mailed and that terms of employment would be negotiable.
The committee recorded the motion to post the position was made by Greg Niewold and seconded by Randy Ferguson; that motion also passed by unanimous voice vote. The minutes do not specify a salary range or hiring timeline beyond "open until filled."
