Council delays decision on rewritten bicycle, scooter and skate ordinance to July 28

City Attorney Ian Prust explained that "The first change was eliminating bike licenses," and that the ordinance places statutory definitions for electric bikes and scooters into the Municipal Code, establishes general provisions and targeted rules for different device types, and prohibits riding these devices in the Downtown Area (Central Business District). After discussion, the council voted to move the ordinance to a second reading and possible action at the July 28 meeting.
